OUR PROGRAMS
At Defender of Blind Right in Africa (DBRAF), our work is dedicated to transforming the lives of visually impaired individuals by providing them with the resources, skills, and support they need to live independently and thrive. Our initiatives are focused on five key areas: education and training, rehabilitation and support, advocacy and inclusion, resources and accessibility, and faith-based empowerment.
Education & Training
focuses on Braille literacy, vocational skills, and life skills development to help visually impaired individuals gain independence. We support inclusive education and equip individuals with skills like computer literacy, music, and entrepreneurship for self-reliance.
Advocacy & Inclusion
ensures that visually impaired individuals have equal rights and opportunities in education, employment, and public spaces. We engage with governments and communities to promote accessibility, raise awareness, and fight discrimination.
Rehabilitation & Support
helps individuals adapt to daily life through mobility training, counseling, and independent living skills. We provide peer support networks that foster confidence and emotional well-being.
Resources & Accessibility
provide assistive devices, technology training, and accessible learning materials like Braille books, audiobooks, and screen readers. We work to improve transportation and public infrastructure for the blind.
Faith & Hope
plays a vital role in our mission. We offer spiritual guidance, mentorship, and faith-based encouragement to uplift and inspire individuals, ensuring they find hope and purpose in their journey.
Through these initiatives, DBRAF is building a society where visually impaired individuals can live independently, access opportunities, and thrive.
